Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that AKTIF Music is designed as an integrated mentorship program to sustainably develop regional music industries.
“AKTIF Music includes support for music video production funding, contract facilitation to ensure the protection of copyrights and related rights, as well as the strengthening of promotion and commercialization so that local music ecosystems become more resilient and competitive at the national level,” said Teuku Riefky.
He added that this approach aims to reinforce the value chain of the music industry, from the creative process and production stages to distribution and the optimal utilization of works by regional creative actors.
The “Microplastics” music video was directed by Eko Poleng in collaboration with production house Hypno Creative Media. Filming took place in the Coban Talun area, Batu City, East Java. The work presents a visual narrative portraying the relationship between humans and nature as affected by instant and consumptive lifestyles.

The launch of the video coincides with the commemoration of International Education Day and is positioned as an educational medium to raise public awareness of the impact of microplastics on health and the environment.
Tropical Forest expressed appreciation for the facilitation provided by the Ministry of Creative Economy through the AKTIF Music program. The band emphasized the importance of the state’s role in promoting environmental campaigns through creative approaches, while encouraging the public to reduce single-use plastic consumption and improve waste management behavior.
Through the Directorate of Music under the Deputy for Media Creativity, the Ministry of Creative Economy presents the AKTIF program as a form of integration between music and visual expression. The resulting works are expected to serve as effective communication tools in voicing sustainability messages, while simultaneously expanding the regional creative economy’s impact through talent development, content production, and creativity-based distribution of works.
