Jakarta, 9 December 2025 – The peak event of ASIK (Acceleration of Indonesian Creative Exports) Fashion Connect 2025 was held with great enthusiasm. A fashion showcase featuring 12 brands curated by the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency is expected to continue growing and expanding into international markets.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menyampaikan sambutan pada kegiatan ASIK Fashion Connect 2025 yang digelar di Perpustakaan Nasional RI, Selasa (9/12/2025).
“I want to see our brands not only well known in Indonesia but also recognized globally. This is not impossible, and it has already happened, for example Buttonscarves, which has successfully gone international. Many countries are opening their doors to Indonesian fashion products, such as batik and others. Therefore, this program must not stop as a ceremonial event, but must continue sustainably,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at the event held at the National Library on Tuesday, 9 December 2025.
The program initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy aims to strengthen the capacity of local fashion brands so they are able to compete at the international level. Through this program, the Ministry seeks to ensure that selected brands receive comprehensive support to enhance their competitiveness, both in terms of product quality and business readiness.

At the peak event, the owners of the 12 local fashion brands were given the opportunity to present their works and showcase their collections before international buyers and partners. This moment opened new collaboration opportunities, including export potential, joint collections, and licensing partnerships that can expand product penetration into various countries.
Director of Fashion at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Romi Astuti, explained the series of development processes carried out before the brands reached the international curation stage. This preparation is considered crucial as a foundation for the brands.

“We prepared these brands through bootcamps and one-on-one mentoring, covering export procedures, understanding market characteristics in various countries, and pitching techniques. Each country has different preferences and target markets, which makes personalized mentoring essential. This also includes how to conduct effective business matching,” Romi explained.
The Ministry of Creative Economy’s assistance does not stop at the peak event. This program is designed to be sustainable to ensure that local brands have long-term strategies for developing their businesses in international markets. The support provided includes strengthening brand management capacity, enhancing product storytelling, and expanding global business networks.

“This activity must indeed be continuous and should not end here. We will conduct evaluations and provide follow-up assistance. The brands will also receive dedicated mentors from industry practitioners to strengthen their marketing efforts in various countries. We hope the knowledge they gain can also be shared with other fashion business players,” said Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Yuke Sri Rahayu.
