Yogyakarta, June 27, 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, attended the 18th edition of ARTJOG at Jogja National Museum, Yogyakarta, on Friday, June 27, 2025. This annual festival, exhibition, and contemporary art fair is being held under the theme “Motif Amalan.”

"Here we can see a combination of sales, entertainment, and social activities, which means that this event is not just about profit but has a purpose for the planet, reflected at the souvenir counter," explained the Deputy Minister while visiting several exhibition rooms at ARTJOG.
Running from June 20 to August 31, 2025, ARTJOG not only presents art exhibitions but also organizes a series of supporting programs such as Exhibition Tour, Special Project, Young Artist Awards, Art Care, Meet The Artist, Workshop, and various art performances open to the public.
The Deputy Minister said that all of these reflect the vision and mission of the creative economy, as it is not only about creativity but also about its economic aspects.
This event features 44 invited artists, 2 commissioned artists, as well as 44 children and teenagers participating in the ARTJOG Kids program.
The Deputy Minister stated that this exhibition is a showcase of Indonesia, and the participation of children adds a vibrant and colorful vibe to the event.
"After seeing the works of the artists at ARTJOG, it feels like being taken into a different realm, because each room has a different atmosphere. The presence of children adds a unique touch with different colors, and this exhibition portrays Indonesia," said the Deputy Minister.

The presence of the Deputy Minister at ARTJOG 2025 reflects the government’s concrete support for the arts sector as one of the key drivers of the creative economy, rooted in culture, innovation, and local wisdom.
Also attending the event were ArtJog Founder and Artistic Director Heri Pemad and Artist Bambang Toko W. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Director for Craft of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Neli Yana.
