According to Minister of Creative Economy Riefky, the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Ireland, which has existed since 1984, is vital for the growth of the creative economy in Indonesia.
"We are grateful for being invited to the celebration of Irish heritage such as Saint Patrick’s Day. This is more than just a celebration; it serves as a reminder that identity is shaped not only by our origins but also by the values we uphold and the relationships we have cultivated over time. This proves that the bond between Indonesia and Ireland is strong, not just a diplomatic duty, but an opportunity for future collaboration," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
From the perspective of collaboration in the music subsector, Minister of Creative Economy views that Indonesia and Ireland can explore partnerships in music production that blend traditional and modern elements. This collaboration can take place through festivals, musician exchanges, as well as training initiatives in digital distribution, music rights management, and cross-country production techniques.

"Although Indonesia and Ireland have different cultures, our creative industries speak the same language. Take music, for example. Not long ago, we celebrated National Music Day, which highlighted the strength and immense potential of Indonesia’s music industry. As we know, Ireland has also produced legendary musicians like U2, Westlife, The Cranberries, The Corrs, and many others. We must seize this momentum and shift from admiration to collaboration," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky.
Minister of Creative Economy Riefky also emphasized creativity and culture as forms of resilience to maintain unity and the aspirations of a nation.
"I hope the friendship between Indonesia and Ireland continues to grow in trade, creativity, and other programs that can be collaboratively developed in the future," concluded Minister of Creative Economy.
The Irish Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Padraig Francis, welcomed Minister of Creative Economy Riefky’s presence at the event, emphasizing the importance of maintaining bilateral relations not only through celebrations but also by creating world-class music festivals.
