Jakarta, March 19, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Minister of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, described Komang as an excellent example of collaboration across the creative economy subsectors. Collaborations like this must be encouraged so that Indonesian cinema continues to grow and can compete in the global market," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene while attending the Gala Premiere of Komang at Epicentrum XXI, Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Komang, directed by Naya Anindiya, is an adaptation of a song by Raim Laode, telling the love story of Ode, a young man from Buton, Southeast Sulawesi, and Ade, a migrant from Bali. Their joyful journey faces several challenges that test the strength of their love. The film stands as an example of collaboration between the film and music industries, as it is inspired by the popular song of the same name.

In her remarks, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene emphasized the importance of synergy between creative economy subsectors. In addition to supporting inter-subsector collaboration, the Ministry of Creative Economy also plays a role in amplifying the promotion of Komang through various communication channels, including owned media and strategic partnerships with key opinion leaders (KOLs).
The government's presence at this event also aimed to strengthen ties with creative industry players and provide positive testimony for Indonesian films to gain wider recognition. Irene Umar added that this film is not just an adaptation of a popular song but is also based on research into market trends.
