Jakarta, February 8, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar attended The Jakarta 20th Toys & Comics Fair 2025, held at Balai Kartini, Jakarta, on Saturday, February 8 – Sunday, February 9, 2025.
This annual event serves as a gathering platform for creators, collectors, and enthusiasts of toys and comics, both from Indonesia and abroad. This year, the exhibition featured 200 booths, with 25 percent of them coming from international participants, highlighting the growing global appeal of Indonesia's creative industry.
In her opening speech, Irene emphasized that Indonesia is no longer just a market but has become a producer and innovator in the global toy and comic ecosystem.

"Today, we see 200 booths, with 25 percent coming from abroad. This proves that Indonesia is not just a consumer but also a globally recognized creator," she stated on Saturday.
She further stressed that the Ministry of Creative Economy is driving economic growth under the New Engine of Growth concept. She hopes to see more local Intellectual Property (IP) emerging and competing in the international market.

"The government recognizes the importance of the creative industry as an economic growth engine. That is why the Ministry of Creative Economy is here to support creators so they not only dominate their own country but also break into global markets," she added.
The Ministry of Creative Economy, Irene continued, will continue to provide facilitation, training, and support to ensure that creators remain competitive and can expand their businesses internationally.

Meanwhile, Founder & CEO of SACCA Production, Riza Satyagraha, expressed his appreciation for Irene’s presence at the event. According to him, government support plays a crucial role in the growth of Indonesia’s toy and comic industry.
"We are delighted to receive direct attention from the government. Over the past 20 years of organizing this event, the toy and comic industry has faced many challenges that require attention. The Ministry of Creative Economy presence brings fresh momentum for us," said Riza.
He hopes that Indonesia’s creative industry, both in terms of creators and enthusiasts, will receive more support to grow economically and compete globally.
