Jakarta, January 17, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, attended the launch of Garuda X Tahilalats at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang. Her presence aimed to support and promote local creative works in Indonesia’s creative economy sector.

During the event, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene expressed her pride in the collaboration between Garuda Indonesia and Tahilalats, which serves as a tangible example of Indonesia’s thriving creative economy. Through this collaboration, she believes that Indonesian creators can produce something extraordinary, proving that the nation’s creative potential can be realized through innovative works.
"Thank you, Garuda and Tahilalats. As a newly established ministry, we see this as a celebration. This is a product of our nation—an Indonesian brand collaborating with another Indonesian brand—an innovative breakthrough," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

She emphasized that this partnership reflects the Ministry of Creative Economg commitment to advancing Indonesia’s creative economy. She also noted that this collaboration would open up significant opportunities for various stakeholders and encouraged other Indonesian brands to engage in similar partnerships.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Garuda Indonesia highlighted that the collaboration with Tahilalats aligns with the mission to develop Indonesia’s creative economy as a "New Engine of Growth" toward Indonesia Emas 2045, in line with the Ministry of Creative Economy goals and the President’s mandate. He also stated that this initiative creates opportunities for young Indonesian talents to innovate and express their creativity.

"The Garuda X Tahilalats collaboration is inspired by our commitment to building Indonesia’s creative economy and strengthening the national economy. We hope this partnership will encourage young Indonesian talents to innovate and create. The Ministry of Creative Economy plays a crucial role in supporting this collaboration, and we look forward to future partnerships, including with other local intellectual properties (IPs). Currently, we have launched various products such as shirts, t-shirts, tumblers, and small bags, and we aspire to elevate more Indonesian products to the international stage," said Garuda Indonesia’s President Director, Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan.
During the event, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar was accompanied by Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design. The event was also attended by Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, and Agustini Rahayu, Deputy for Media Creativity.
