Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Teuku Riefky Harsya, menerima audiensi dari Federasi Dancesport dan Breaking Indonesia (FDBI), Jakarta, Kamis (11/09/2025).
“We hope that through this collaboration, we can create a creative space that not only supports artistic expression but also generates tangible economic impact for industry players,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky during an audience with the Federation of Dancesport and Breaking Indonesia (FDBI) at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Thursday, 11 September 2025.
This audience follows up on discussions held during the Street Dance/Breaking/Dancesport event at Taman Budaya, West Nusa Tenggara, which coincided with the 8th National Sports Festival (FORNAS VIII) on 27 July 2025. Minister of Creative Economy Riefky welcomed the meeting, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and FDBI.
Indonesia’s dance industry has shown rapid development in recent years. Many communities and dance practitioners have proudly represented the nation in national and international competitions, demonstrating the promising potential of this sector.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky also emphasized that Indonesia’s dance industry not only holds artistic value but also possesses economic potential, capable of creating jobs and business opportunities within the creative sector. However, achieving this requires proper support.

“The dance industry has significant added value—not just artistically, but it can also serve as a driving force for the creative economy. With the right support, this industry could become a leading sector contributing to the growth of Indonesia’s creative economy,” Minister of Creative Economy Riefky explained.
Ardiyansyah Djafar, Chairperson of FDBI, expressed concern that there is currently no comprehensive framework to fully protect Indonesia’s dance industry. He stressed that the dance ecosystem requires strong policy support to ensure sustainable development for communities and practitioners.
“We recognize that the creative economy is a highly strategic sector for building Indonesia’s creative industries. Therefore, we hope the Ministry of Creative Economy can serve as a protective umbrella for the creative industry, playing a strategic role in developing a broader and stronger creative economy in Indonesia,” Ardiyansyah stated following his presentation.
“I hope the Ministry of Creative Economy can explore deeper potentials. The Minister’s presentation aligns with FDBI’s vision that the creative economy can contribute significantly to GDP and national economic growth. There are many areas where we can collaborate,” he added.
