“The creative economy plays a vital role in driving national economic growth. The media serves a critical function as a provider of objective and accurate information to the public. Therefore, we are exploring the possibility of working together to further develop the creative economy, including expanding quality employment opportunities,” said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky during the discussion.

Minister of Creative Economy Riefky stated that the Ministry is committed to strengthening the creative economy ecosystem, particularly through the hexahelix approach. Currently, the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency has identified 17 subsectors and 15 priority cities as part of its ongoing development strategy.

“We are taking a collaborative approach with various stakeholders as part of the hexahelix model—engaging with media, communities or associations, financial institutions, businesses, academia, and government bodies. We need insights from media experts like Rakyat Merdeka to share perspectives on the shift from an information-based economy to a creativity-based economy. Especially in today’s digital age, the creative economy is closely tied to media as a key platform for creative expression, product marketing, and uncovering new opportunities,” Minister of Creative Economy Riefky explained.
