Jakarta, 30 March, 2026 – The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, assessed that films have the potential to be more than just thematic entertainment, as they also carry moral messages. One example is the film Meja Tanpa Laci, which is inspired by an innovative anti-corruption program initiated by Andi Sri Ulva Baso, recipient of the Hoegeng Awards 2025—an award presented to members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) who demonstrate dedication, honesty, and high integrity.
The Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with representatives of the film Meja Tanpa Laci at the office of the Ministry of Creative Economy in Jakarta on Monday (March 30, 2026).
“Cinemas prioritize commercial films that promise strong returns. The promotion of this film must begin immediately and be further optimized to reach a wider audience. Therefore, we are ready to collaborate across the film’s value chain,” said the Minister of Creative Economy while receiving the audience with representatives of the film Meja Tanpa Laci at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Monday, March 30, 2026.

The meeting aimed to introduce a film that highlights the value of integrity with the tagline “Susah untuk Jujur” (“It’s Hard to Be Honest”). Through a visual approach that is light yet meaningful, the film is expected to convey messages of honesty to the wider public while offering an alternative viewing option that is relevant to social realities.
The film’s producer, Deden Ridwan, stated that this production aims to present a positive narrative that resonates with everyday life.
“The goal of this film is for the public to realize that there are still good people in this country. That is what we want to build in a more entertaining way, offering a fresh nuance for integrity-themed films. We are trying to present integrity in a lighter manner so that the messages can reach the public and help foster the growth of the economic ecosystem,” he said.

The film Meja Tanpa Laci follows the story of Dipa, a young police officer who upholds integrity within a system rife with bribery practices. In his investigation into the disappearance of a young man, Dipa uncovers links to a drug network operating behind the distribution of basic necessities.
Amid pressure from his superiors, threats from the mafia, and increasingly complex personal conflicts, he is faced with a difficult choice between maintaining his principles or surrendering to a system that seeks to silence him.
