“ICCI can be an outstanding association to be nurtured and developed into halal culinary ambassadors because they already have an international network. Moreover, the Ministry of Creative Economy offers the Master Cooking Program (Program Masak Bersama Master/MASAMO), which can involve professional chefs. In addition, the Ministry also consistently collaborates with the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal/BPJPH) to support the expansion of Indonesia’s halal culinary products,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
ICCI is an Islamic chef organization in Indonesia, officially verified as a muslim chef member of the World Platform of Islamic Countries Culinary Societies (WICS), in which only one organization represents each Muslim country. Established in 2021, ICCI has nearly 3,000 members consisting of professional chefs, culinary enthusiasts, institutions (those under culinary arts or tourism institutions), and young chefs.

The Minister of Creative Economy stated that ICCI has contributed to growing the halal culinary industry, which can be an economic driver and increase state revenue through the export of Indonesia’s halal culinary products to Muslim-majority countries.
“We can involve ICCI as a strategic partner linked to flagship programs in Asta Ekraf (Achievements of the Eight Program Clusters of the Ministry of Creative Economy). Many culinary businesses grow significantly after obtaining halal certification. For example, Sour Sally, owned by a non-Muslim, was able to open outlets in other Islamic countries thanks to the credibility of its halal certification. Hopefully, we can further develop this halal culinary ecosystem so it becomes widely recognized globally,” said the Minister.

Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity, Yuke Sri Rahayu, who also attended the audience, stated that ICCI is capable of creating job opportunities and delivering a significant economic impact. “The culinary subsector provides the largest employment contribution compared to other subsectors.
Therefore, we encourage collaboration with ICCI as part of fostering global investment growth and creating a very high domestic market for halal food products,” added Deputy Yuke.
President of ICCI, Adie Miartadi, expressed enthusiasm for today’s exploratory collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy. He hopes to be part of the culinary heritage preservation initiatives promoted by the Ministry.

“We have already built a halal food ecosystem from upstream to downstream, which we hope will be in line with the Ministry of Creative Economy’s programs. We also want to be involved in policy formulation to support the growth of the culinary industry, as well as act as halal culinary ambassadors. ICCI also hopes to participate in training and skills development programs to improve human resources in the culinary sector, thus helping market products in both domestic and international markets,” said Chef Adie Miartadi. Public relations figure and Indonesian celebrity chef, Chef Muto, added that halal certification is crucial to ensuring product halalness and increasing public trust.

“Every culinary product, whether food or beverage, must have a halal logo or certification. Every chef must also understand the process of making food halal so that the public can enjoy it safely and comfortably,” said Chef Muto.
Also accompanying the Minister of Creative Economy in the audience was the Director for Culinary, Andy Ruswar. Meanwhile, ICCI representatives included Deputy Secretary General 2, Chef Tri; Head of Halal Division, Chef Suharna; ICCI Advisory Board member, Paypaiya; and other ICCI board members.
