Jakarta, 22 September 2025 – Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, anticipates the rise of a generation that creates digital solutions, not merely consumes technology. He expressed this at the peak of the Cyber Breaker Competition (CBC) Season 2, a cybersecurity contest attended by hundreds of young participants.

“We aim to ensure that Indonesia’s young talents can provide high-value cybersecurity services while strengthening the national creative economy ecosystem,” said the Minister of Creative Economy.
Cyber Breaker Competition (CBC) Season 2 serves as a platform to produce a new generation of cybersecurity experts who are competitive and contribute to safeguarding Indonesia’s digital space.
Deputy for Digital Technology Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Neil El Himam, emphasized that cybersecurity is now a fundamental pillar of the digital ecosystem. He highlighted the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals and stressed the importance of accelerating the growth of national talent.

“If we can develop 35,000 young talents in this field, it will be sufficient to protect Indonesia’s digital space,” Neil explained.
Support also came from Deputy of Cybersecurity and National Encryption, BSSN, Slamet Aji Pamungkas, who highlighted the need for cross-sector collaboration. “National security strategies will be effective only if the government, industry, academia, and communities work together,” he said.

The competition, organized by Peris.ai in collaboration with RRQ on 14 September 2025, featured a live Capture the Flag (CTF) 2 vs 2 e-sports format and attracted more than 600 participants from across Indonesia. In addition to the competition, a panel discussion themed “Strengthening the Cybersecurity Ecosystem and Indonesia’s Digital Creative Industry” was held, featuring government representatives, academics, and industry players.
Director for Digital Technology Baru, Dandy Yudha Feryawan, stressed the importance of creating a talent pipeline so that young participants do not stop at competitions but are absorbed into the industry or government.
Concluding the event, Neil emphasized that digital security should be viewed as an investment, not a cost. “We encourage Indonesian cybersecurity enthusiasts to grow from individuals to companies and ultimately into a robust industry,” he said.

This aligns with Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky vision for CBC to become a sustainable platform producing a new generation of digital guardians and drivers of the national creative economy, in line with the Asta Ekraf priority programs toward Indonesia Emas 2045. Consequently, the digital subsector can serve as the new engine of growth for Indonesia’s economy.
