Collaboration Between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Canva Transforms Creative Ideas into AI-Based Visuals

Jakarta, 23 December 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency, in collaboration with Canva, held a workshop titled “Visual Excellence: Turning Ideas into Reality with Canva.” The activity aimed to strengthen creative talents in translating ideas into communicative visuals through design technology and artificial intelligence (AI).

Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menyampaikan sambutan dalam workshop ‘Visual Hebat, Ide Jadi Nyata dengan Canva’ di Ballroom Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, Selasa (23/12/2025).

“Canva is not merely a working tool, but a medium to express ideas, emotions, and values. Many creative ideas fail to be conveyed not because of their quality, but because they are not communicated in the right way. This is where the role of visuals becomes crucial,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at the event held at the Thamrin Nine Ballroom, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 23 December 2025.

The workshop highlighted the importance of visual and design skills as part of an increasingly digital creative economy ecosystem. Through introductory and hands-on sessions, participants were equipped with insights into utilizing Canva as an accessible design tool relevant to creative economy players across subsectors in delivering ideas effectively.

Deputy Minister Irene emphasized that the ability to visualize ideas is a fundamental pillar in the development of a creative economy that is increasingly competitive and technology-driven. She also underlined that this inaugural workshop marked the beginning of a partnership between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Canva as part of broader efforts to strengthen the national creative economy talent ecosystem.

“This collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and Canva serves as an initial step that will continue to be developed, so that more creative players are able to communicate their ideas clearly, relevantly, and in an easily understood manner,” she added.

Meanwhile, Canva Indonesia Country Manager Stefani Herlie stated that the partnership aligns with Canva’s mission to empower everyone to design.
