Jakarta, June 10, 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and improving the quality of life for communities. This message was delivered during a panel discussion titled “Empowering Women, Enriching Lives” organized by PT KAO Indonesia in celebration of its 40th anniversary.

The event focused on lifestyle innovation and inclusive, sustainable access to hygiene as a means to empower Indonesian women, improve public welfare, and promote the sustainable growth of the creative economy.
“Women play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and economic quality of families and communities. Therefore, we must ensure equal access and opportunities for women to grow and innovate,” said the Deputy Minister at the event, held at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
According to her, women’s empowerment is key to improving public welfare and driving sustainable economic growth. She also emphasized the importance of positioning women as “the new engine of growth” in the journey toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
In this context, she highlighted the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and community to support programs that empower women, drive inclusive progress, and enhance the global competitiveness of Indonesia’s creative economy.
Yoshihiro Hasebe, CEO of KAO Corporation, added that KAO Indonesia is committed to empowering women through various initiatives, including product innovation tailored to women’s needs and supporting community-based social programs.
“We believe that by empowering women, we can create a more prosperous and sustainable society,” he said.
Meanwhile, Putri Tanjung, a womanpreneur and CEO of Trans Digital Lifestyle Group, stated that women hold enormous potential to become drivers of economic growth.
“Digital innovation and entrepreneurship can be key pathways for women to improve their quality of life and achieve economic independence,” said Putri Tanjung.

The Ministry of Creative Economy and KAO Indonesia hope that this panel discussion marks a first step in raising awareness and advancing an inclusive creative economy by empowering women as key change-makers.
