Jakarta, 9 February 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar is ready to support the film Na Willa, which is scheduled to be released in cinemas across Indonesia during Lebaran 2026. Discussions on collaboration and promotional activations were also conducted together with Visinema.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received a Visinema audience at the Office of the Creative Economy Agency in Jakarta on Monday (9/2/2026).
“The Creative Economy Agency is certainly ready to support the film Na Willa through promotional activations that can be integrated into childhood story content, installations at Lapangan Banteng, and Kids Corner locations at airports and train stations. This will demonstrate that creative works can serve as a powerful medium to promote literacy while also providing an inclusive learning space for children and families,” said Deputy Minister Irene Umar during the Visinema audience at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday, 9 February 2026.
The film, adapted from a novel by Reda Gaudiamo, is believed to have the potential to celebrate children’s identities through collaborative activations in both digital and physical content ahead of the National Chinese New Year celebrations and leading up to Lebaran 2026. Previously, the Creative Economy Agency also supported the film Jumbo last year to strengthen the national film ecosystem.

“Inclusivity should not remain mere words, but must become a creative experience in public spaces so that a film work is more than just something to watch on a screen. Modern creative traditions must deliver shared experiences that mobilize the creative ecosystem and encourage public participation,” said Deputy Minister Irene Umar, accompanied by Doni Setiawan, Director of Film, Animation, and Video at the Creative Economy Agency.
Na Willa tells the story of a six-year-old girl who is still small, yet harbors big dreams. Set against the backdrop of 1960s Surabaya, audiences can follow Na Willa’s journey with her friends in Gang Krembangan, filled with adventures and the simple joys of life. Through Na Willa’s innocent and curious perspective, viewers are invited to witness the dynamics of a multicultural family, with a father of Chinese descent and a mother from NTT.
The child’s perspective portrayed in the film is believed to encourage the strengthening of literacy and creative spaces, opening opportunities for synergy within the creative ecosystem while making public spaces more educational through engaging activities.

“Indonesia currently has very limited children’s content that the entire family can enjoy. We have high hopes that a story and characters created can become companions for children and Indonesian families as they grow. The film Na Willa can serve as a space for discussion, especially within families, making these moments more engaging and encouraging parents to involve their children more in reading and appreciating what they write. We believe that children’s stories are just as important as those of adults,” said Anggia Kharisma, Chief Content Officer of Visinema Studios and producer of the film Na Willa.
The film Na Willa also plans to conduct a roadshow with the “Kamar Na Willa” bus to several cities, create a mobile library (Kelana Aksara), and carry out activations in public transportation and city parks. Through the presence of this warm family story, Na Willa will also promote a literacy mission and strengthen the emotional values of both children and parents through reading and writing experiences.

“Deputy Minister Irene Umar has always supported the works of our nation’s children, which aligns with Na Willa’s ultimate goal of promoting children’s literacy. We aim to preserve Indonesian local IP, which holds great promise for future collaborations that are sustainable and mutually supportive. Keep following updates on the film Na Willa, which will be released during Lebaran 2026, watch it together in cinemas, and experience the joy of being a child,” concluded Anggia Kharisma.
Also present at the audience were Dewinta Hutagaol, Head of Corporate Affairs, Visinema Group; Na Willa producer Novia Puspasari; Business Development Lead Ria Imelda; and Marketing Lead Iqbal.
