Yogyakarta, 4 November 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Mandiri, and the Yogyakarta Special Region Tourism Office, held a Creative Economy Business Literacy Workshop on Tuesday, 4 November 2025 in Yogyakarta. The program aims to enhance the capacity of local creative industry players through financial literacy training, access to financing, and expanded business networking opportunities.

“We hope to see more creative entrepreneurs who are competitive, independent, and able to generate real economic impact for their regions. The government remains committed to building a supportive ecosystem through literacy programs, financing schemes, and cross-sector collaboration,” said Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya.
Deputy for Strategic Development at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Cecep Rukendi, highlighted the importance of literacy in strengthening the competitiveness of creative entrepreneurs from various regions. He emphasized that cross-subsector collaboration is a strategic step for entrepreneurs seeking to scale up.
“Literacy is key for creative industry players to develop added value in their businesses—not only preserving cultural heritage, but also elevating the economic value of their products. Collaboration across creative subsectors also opens new opportunities, for instance, when culinary businesses collaborate with fashion or film,” said Deputy Cecep during the workshop held at Jambaluwuk Malioboro Hotel, Yogyakarta.
Director of Access to Finance, Funding, and Investment Development, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing ongoing support for creative entrepreneurs across Indonesia.

“We want to ensure that this program does not end in the workshop room. It will continue through follow-up initiatives such as mentoring, business assistance, and pitching sessions in collaboration with Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta,” said Director Anggara.
He further emphasized that the workshop aims to equip creative industry players in Yogyakarta with the skills needed to grow independently and sustainably.
“Through business literacy, we want to ensure that creative entrepreneurs in Yogyakarta are not only able to survive but also thrive, develop, and become part of the driving force of the regional economy,” he added.
Participants showed strong enthusiasm during the interactive talkshow and workshop sessions. They actively discussed and explored new insights on topics such as Entrepreneurship and Financial Management for the Creative Industry, Productive Micro Credit, and digital solutions including the Livin’ Merchant by Mandiri application designed to support business efficiency and expansion.

The event featured speakers from industry practitioners and financial institutions, including Susana Diah Kusumaningrum, Supervisor of Financial Service Providers Conduct Surveillance, Consumer Education, Protection, and Strategic Management Services Division at OJK DIY; Danardono Eko Prasetyo, Senior Officer of Micro Business Alliance at Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta; and Karyasari Dewi Puspitorini, Micro Banking Cluster Manager at Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta.
Also present were the Head of Yogyakarta Tourism Office Singgih Raharjo, representatives from OJK DIY, the Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta Region management team, and creative industry players from various subsectors such as culinary, crafts, and fashion.
