Jakarta, 3 February 2026 – Creative Economy Minister / Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) Teuku Riefky Harsya received an audience from the Indonesian Youth Reformers Generation (GEMPAR) at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency office in Jakarta. The meeting discussed collaboration opportunities to strengthen the creative economy ecosystem through a community-based hexahelix approach.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya received an audience from the Indonesian Youth Reformers Generation (GEMPAR) at the Ministry of Creative Economy / Creative Economy Agency office in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
The Minister noted that GEMPAR is a joint movement whose spirit aligns with the national development agenda. This collaboration is seen as strategic in supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, particularly in promoting community welfare through the strengthening of the creative economy sector.
“The creative economy itself, which we call The New Engine of Growth, is a new driver of national economic growth that we start from the regions. Among many regions that were previously focused on natural resources, their transformation is now moving toward human resources potential that is non-extractive and can be accelerated through the strengthening of the creative economy ecosystem,” said Teuku Riefky on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
He added that the creative economy has the potential to become a new source of growth capable of uplifting regional economies. Community involvement, such as GEMPAR, plays a strategic role in building the creative economy value chain, ranging from associations and business actors to entrepreneurship development.

“Nowadays, there is a saying that the creative economy is the new mining. In the past, regional leaders focused on natural resource mining potential; now, the question is how to map new ‘mining’ potential from the creative economy, such as music, performing arts, or other subsectors,” he said.
GEMPAR is a cross-denominational Christian-Catholic youth organization spread across various regions. GEMPAR positions itself as a collaborative partner in strengthening youth capacity, enhancing entrepreneurship, and developing human resources for the creative economy based on regional and community diversity.
GEMPAR Chairman Yohanes HD Sirait stated that the creative economy provides a strategic space for youth to develop. He added that the creative economy also plays an important role in leveraging the demographic bonus.
“The creative economy is one of the main drivers of our economy. Established sectors tend to be difficult for young people to enter, while the creative economy provides space for everyone to grow. We see the creative economy as the key to ensuring that the younger generation becomes productive. If not properly prepared, the demographic bonus could instead become a burden,” he said.
