Creative Economy Ministry Strengthens Digital Talent Through AI Workshop

Jakarta, June 27, 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), in collaboration with Dicoding Indonesia, organized the 2026 Creative Economy Agency Digital Talent (BDT) Workshop as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen Indonesia's creative workforce. The initiative aims to equip participants with practical artificial intelligence (AI) skills to boost productivity and create greater economic value.

Muhammad Neil El Himam, Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy, delivers opening remarks at the 2026 Creative Economy Agency Digital Talent (BDT) Workshop, titled Productivity with AI: Mastering Prompting Techniques for Productive Workflow Transformation, in Jakarta on Friday, June 27, 2026.

Titled Productivity with AI: Mastering Prompting Techniques for Productive Workflow Transformation, the workshop brought together 100 top participants who successfully completed the Practical AI for Productivity course under the 2026 BDT Program. Participants received in-depth training and hands-on experience in applying AI, particularly prompting techniques, to support professional tasks and develop creative solutions.

Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Muhammad Neil El Himam, emphasized that strengthening digital talent is fundamental to positioning the creative economy as one of Indonesia's new engines of economic growth.

"Amid rapid digital transformation, Indonesia needs more individuals who can adapt, innovate, and create added value through technology. Through the 2026 Creative Economy Agency Digital Talent Program, we aim to broaden public access to future-ready skills, enabling more talents to produce innovative work, create business opportunities, and make meaningful contributions to Indonesia's economy," Neil said during the workshop at the Auditorium of the Film Pesona Indonesia Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Neil added that AI presents new opportunities for creative economy players by accelerating workflows, improving efficiency, and unlocking innovation. However, maximizing these opportunities requires practical skills to ensure AI is used effectively and responsibly.

The workshop featured three main sessions: Practical AI Applications Across Industries, Optimizing AI to Support Your Work, and Applying AI: Hands-on Practice in Creating AI-Powered Solutions for Productivity. During the final session, participants worked collaboratively to develop AI-based solutions, which were presented in a showcase.

Dicoding Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Narenda Wicaksono said the ability to use AI effectively is becoming an essential competency across industries.

"AI is no longer just a technology of the future—it is already a productivity tool used by professionals today. The biggest challenge is no longer whether we will use AI, but how we can leverage it effectively, responsibly, and in ways that create real impact," Narenda said.

According to the Indonesia Developer Outlook (IDO) 2026 survey, which involved more than 3,100 Indonesian digital professionals, nine out of ten professional developers reported productivity gains ranging from 20 percent to more than 50 percent after incorporating generative AI into their workflows. The findings demonstrate AI's growing impact on the way individuals and organizations work.

Director of Applications under the Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology, Tri Wahyudi, said the strong enthusiasm shown by participants reflects the growing demand for practical technology training that aligns with industry developments.

"Through this workshop, participants not only gained an understanding of AI but also had the opportunity to test and develop solutions that can be applied in their professional work and everyday activities. We hope this experience will encourage them to continue growing and contribute to accelerating technology adoption across various sectors," Tri said.
