“We are witnessing significant new economic growth in the Web3, gaming, and digital IP sectors. Today, many innovations and games created in Indonesia have succeeded in global markets but are not yet widely recognized domestically. Therefore, it is crucial to strengthen appreciation for local creative products and ensure that innovations from Indonesia can be part of the global ecosystem,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

She conveyed this during a panel discussion titled Building the Future of Gaming, IP & Digital Ownership organized by Tokenomy, Blockdev, and eMerge by MDI Ventures at Microsoft Indonesia, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

The panel discussion is part of an educational effort to advance the Web3, IP, and gaming industries in Indonesia. The event was attended by various Web3 communities and stakeholders in digital economy, gaming, and intellectual property.

“We are still facing many challenges related to copyright and IP protection. The government plays an important role in addressing these issues, but ultimately public awareness is also needed. Each of us has the choice to support and value original works from creators. If we want the IP business to grow, we must ensure that innovation and creativity receive proper protection,” Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene added.

On this occasion, Paulin Charisma, Marketing and Community Lead of Tokenomy, welcomed the presence of Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene, stressing the importance of government support for the growth of the Web3 industry in Indonesia.
