Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, served as a speaker at the Business Insight Seminar titled “The Creative Economy Imperative: Why Leaders Who Unlock Creativity Win” during ILEAD SUMMIT 2026 at Erajaya Corporate University, Jakarta, Monday (11/5/2026).
Irene stated that achieving this goal requires cross-sector collaboration, including through technology distribution and retail ecosystems such as Erajaya Swasembada.
“Creative economy is future growth for economy. Natural resources may eventually run out, but creativity has no limits. The creative economy is sustainable because it is driven by ideas, creativity, and innovation, while also supported by reliable technology. The most important factor is how those ideas or initiatives can be developed through business execution and generate creative impact,” said Irene.
The Deputy Minister added that collaboration can be implemented through a hexahelix approach involving the government, business sector, academics, communities, media, and financial institutions. Each stakeholder plays an important role in uniting the strength of a creativity-based economy capable of creating added value for Indonesia.
“Impossible to do it ourselves, hexahelix collaboration is the key. In order to unite the nation and move forward together, we must begin exploring digital markets for Indonesian creative products and works. Moreover, Indonesia has a unique selling point in the form of culture that no other country possesses,” she explained.
