Tangerang, September 17, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, stated that the Indonesian craft industry has moved to an international level. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene also emphasized that creativity is the main strength of Indonesia's creative economy.

“We are not just selling chairs or tables; we are selling design, functionality, and storytelling that add value. This is Indonesia: diverse yet one, cooperating and collaborating across creative economy sub-sectors to form a resilient ecosystem,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during the opening of IFFINA+ 2025 (International Furniture and Craft Fair Indonesia) at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
This event highlights efforts to strengthen the craft and design sub-sectors as key drivers of the national creative economy through cross-sector collaboration. Taking place from September 17–20, 2025, the exhibition carries the theme “Story of Origin” and features over 150 brands and 25 designers.

IFFINA+ 2025 is expected to become a cross-sectoral collaboration platform, as well as a strategic bridge connecting the local market with international buyers. During the occasion, Deputy Minister Irene stressed the importance of viewing furniture and crafts as value-added products.
“IFFINA+ 2025 demonstrates that the Indonesian furniture and design industry has already moved to the international level,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
“Indonesian creativity is the new engine of growth for the national economy and the global economy. With the courage to step onto the global stage and collaborate across sectors, Indonesian creative economy works will gain greater recognition,” she added.

Meanwhile, Lea Aziz, Principal of PT Elenbee Cipta Design, underscored Indonesia’s increasingly diverse materials and designs.
“Indonesia is incredibly rich. At IFFINA+, we can see how craft, rattan, and local materials are well-curated for the needs of architects, interiors, and products. This event shows that Indonesian furniture and crafts can compete at a world-class level,” she explained.

As a strategic agenda, IFFINA+ 2025 is not only a showcase for Indonesian furniture and crafts but also a gateway to expanding the global market through collaboration, in line with the Golden Indonesia 2045 (Indonesia Emas 2045) vision.
