Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Applauds TikTok ForYouBeauty 2026: Local Brands Must Target Global Markets

Jakarta, June 12, 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, expressed appreciation for TikTok ForYouBeauty 2026, highlighting the festival’s role in strengthening synergy and collaboration among business actors and local brands to expand into global markets.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar delivered remarks and officially opened the TikTok ForYouBeauty 2026 festival at Senayan City, Jakarta, Friday (12/6/2026).

“I would like to express my appreciation to TikTok Indonesia for this extraordinary initiative. In an era of rapidly advancing digital transformation, digital platforms are no longer merely tools for communication and entertainment. They have become economic drivers capable of creating business opportunities, generating employment, and expanding market access for entrepreneurs across Indonesia. TikTok has demonstrated a significant role in building the creative economy ecosystem and supporting the growth of MSMEs and local brands,” said Irene Umar during the festival’s opening ceremony at Senayan City, Jakarta, on Friday (12/6).

Carrying the theme #FindYourBeauty (#TemukanCantikmu), the festival offers a comprehensive Online-to-Offline (O2O) experience through product exhibitions, brand activations, educational sessions, and entertainment performances. The theme delivers tangible benefits to the creative economy by providing local businesses with opportunities to understand interactive digital marketing strategies while building strong and globally competitive brand identities.

“What we need is one thing: ambition from every brand—not only to become a leader in its own country, but to thrive around the world. Let’s stop focusing solely on a market of 280 million people and start looking at the 8 billion consumers beyond our borders. I believe platforms like TikTok can serve as a launchpad for Indonesian youth to reach global markets. Because you know what? I believe you guys are ready,” Irene Umar added.

According to Irene Umar, businesses today no longer need large physical stores to gain widespread recognition. The key lies in combining creative ideas, authentic storytelling, and the effective use of digital platforms. Through these modern strategies, local brands now have significant opportunities to grow and reach much broader markets.

TikTok ForYouBeauty was officially launched as a large-scale beauty festival bringing together more than 60 local and international brands, hundreds of creators, and various communities. Through collaboration with TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, the event serves as a tangible platform that integrates creativity and digital commerce to celebrate authentic self-confidence while supporting the growth of Indonesia’s beauty industry.

“This is about developing a sense of beauty that feels authentic and true to each individual, helping people discover what makes them feel confident, find products that suit their needs, and express themselves proudly,” said Wasim Ahmed, Head of Creative Operations & Commercialization Partnership, TikTok Southeast Asia.

Visitors can explore two main venues at Senayan City—the Exhibition Area at the TPH Area and The Space Area—which feature beauty talk shows with public figures such as Cindercella and Nailamcd, as well as musical performances by Sal Priadi, Ghea Indrawari, INDAHKUS, Naykilla, Reality Club, and Nadhif Basalamah.

During the event, the Deputy Minister was accompanied by Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content.
