“This event has become a captive market where cosplayers, anime enthusiasts, and gamers can engage in various activities as a platform for collaboration. Events like this create spaces that bring together creators, communities, and creative industry players, allowing local IPs and characters to grow and reach the global stage,” said Deputy Minister Irene at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) on Saturday, 25 October 2025.
The event also serves as a follow-up to the audience meeting held on 3 October, aimed at promoting local intellectual property through this platform. Indonesia Comic Con X Indonesia Anime Con marks the first time these two events have been combined since they were first held in 2015.
Taking place on 25–26 October 2025, the event carries the theme “Pop Culture Crossover Celebration of The Year” and features a series of activities including exhibitions, talk shows, meet and greet sessions, competitions, movie panels, portfolio reviews, toy auctions, creator workshops, and live performances.

“What is happening here is not merely about hobbies, but about becoming a driving force of the national economy. We hope that cosplayers and communities do not only come together to express their positive passion, but also to move beyond the national stage and be encouraged to enter the international arena,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
The opening of this year’s event was made even more vibrant with a cosplayer parade standing in front of the main stage, reflecting the ongoing creativity and collaboration within the creative industry. The event is also part of the #OktoBerkreasi series in celebration of National Creative Economy Day, allowing more stakeholders to celebrate creativity while contributing to the creative economy. Visitors can also explore the Ministry of Creative Economy booth to enjoy immersive experiences highlighting creativity based on local IPs and board games.
“We believe this event symbolizes a space without boundaries, where creativity and collaboration can meet, driven by the spirit of communities and creators who play an essential role in the development of Indonesia’s creative industry. We are confident that pop culture is not merely entertainment, but an economic force that can generate new opportunities from local talent and bring Indonesian creations to the global level,” said Andita Puteri Tirtawisata, Director of Panorama Media and organizer of the event.

Jakarta, as the host city of the event, continues to encourage the development of creativity and innovation as part of its vision to become a global city and a hub for urban culture and pop culture destinations in Asia. The Ministry of Creative Economy consistently supports potential activations that foster sustainable collaboration in realizing the new engine of national economic growth.
Accompanying Deputy Minister Irene Umar at the event were Deputy for Digital Creativity and Technology Muhammad Neil El Himam and Director of Games Luat S.P. Sihombing.
