South Tangerang, 13 December 2025 — As part of efforts to encourage local Intellectual Property (IP) to move up the value chain, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy / Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar officially opened the 10th anniversary celebration of the local comic IP Tahilalats at Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall on Saturday, 13 December 2025. The presence of a large-scale immersive installation of a local IP in a public space is considered an important breakthrough, signaling that Indonesian IP is increasingly trusted to stand alongside global IP and expand its market reach.

Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, membuka secara resmi perayaan satu dekade IP komik lokal "Tahilalats" di Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall, Tangerang Selatan, Sabtu (13/12/2025).
“The journey of Tahilalats has been a long one, and every time we meet, there is always a new innovation. Large-scale installations in public spaces like this are usually filled by foreign IPs, but today, for the first time, a local IP has been trusted with this space. This is not merely a celebration, but also a step to expand market reach and serve as an example for other local IPs to boldly level up,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
The Deputy Minister expressed appreciation for cross-ecosystem synergy that brings local IP into strategic public spaces such as shopping malls. According to her, the collaboration between the government, public space managers, IP creators, creative studios, communities, and academic elements in this event demonstrates the implementation of a hexahelix approach in developing an IP-based creative economy.

Through this experiential approach, visitors are invited to interact directly with Tahilalats characters, enjoy large-scale visual installations, and participate in various creative activities held from 12 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, accompanying the Christmas and New Year holiday season.
This program is also part of Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall’s year-end series of events, which adopts the concept of an inclusive, safe, and family-friendly space for play and gathering.
