Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Attends Grand Harvest at AEWO Bogor, A Concrete Step to Boost Regional Creative Economy

Bogor, April 17, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar attended the grand harvest at Agro Edu Wisata Organik (AEWO) Mulyaharja, Bogor. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene described her presence as a tangible example of cross-sector synergy to strengthen food security, in line with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto.

Wamenekraf Irene Umar hadiri Panen Raya AEWO Bogor sebagai bentuk dukungan nyata terhadap ketahanan pangan dan penguatan ekonomi kreatif daerah, Bogor, Kamis (17/04/2025).

“As President Prabowo has stated, joint activities across ministries and institutions are a form of strengthening solidarity. We want to show that culture can only thrive when supported by tourism and the creative economy,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during the event held on Thursday, April 17, 2025.

AEWO Mulyaharja, known as the “Last Paradise in Bogor City,” is an agro-tourism area that not only promotes organic farming but also serves as an educational and recreational space for the public. The grand harvest, held on a 23-hectare site, produced up to 3 tons of rice per hectare, reflecting the strong commitment of the community and the government to maintaining sustainable food security.

In addition to the agricultural sector, AEWO has become a platform for showcasing local creative economy potential. One example highlighted by Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene was Bogor Sneakers, a local custom shoe brand. She noted that Bogor Sneakers has the ability to personalize its products and create its own economic value, serving as a concrete example of the Treasure Hunt program initiated by Ministry of Creative Economy to discover hidden creative economy “treasures” across Indonesia.

“Bogor Sneakers is a true hidden gem. The personalization of this product is a vital foundation for driving a sustainable creative economy. This is a very positive step,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

At the same event, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto stated that the activity reflects the potential of local communities when synergized with support from the central government. Meanwhile, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim, as host, highlighted the utilization of AEWO as a collaborative space across sectors.

“This is not only about food security, but also about how culture, tourism, and the creative economy can be integrated into regional development,” said Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya.

“We want to show that it’s not just the sneaker industry that can grow. Other creative potentials in Bogor can also add economic value and create new jobs,” added Dedie A. Rachim.

The AEWO Grand Harvest serves as a concrete example of integrating food security, sustainable tourism, and the creative economy. It is hoped that this initiative can serve as a model for collaborative development in other regions of Indonesia.
