Jakarta, March 17, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration between Indonesian and international artists at the "Ireland's Eye: An Exhibition of New Art from Ireland" held at World Trade Center 2, Jakarta, on Monday, March 17, 2025.

According to Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene, such collaborations in the arts are crucial for the growth of the creative economy and for strengthening diplomatic relations between nations.
"We are very pleased to attend this exhibition and witness how art serves as a bridge to foster closer ties between countries. This exhibition is not only a showcase of artworks but also a platform for potential collaboration between Indonesian and Irish artists," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
The exhibition is a collaborative effort between ISA Art and Design Gallery, the Embassy of Ireland in Indonesia, and Jakarta Land Management. It features works by young artists and graduates of the Master of Fine Arts program from Dublin, Ireland. The exhibition explores themes such as globalization, history, identity, and the digital revolution, through diverse media including paintings, photography, 3D collages, and short films.

In the context of the creative economy, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene praised the initiative by the Irish Embassy in Indonesia for incorporating Indonesian batik with distinctive Irish design elements as an official souvenir.
In addition, Irene also acknowledged the presence of an Irish music group that performs traditional Indonesian gamelan music.
"We hope to see even more collaborations in the future—whether in visual arts, music, or other creative economy sectors—as there are already many great examples of successful cultural exchange between our two countries," she added.
Ireland’s Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Pádraig Francis, welcomed the Deputy Minister’s presence at the event as a symbol of shared commitment to strengthening cooperation in the fields of arts and the creative economy.

"We are delighted with the Ministry of Creative Economy's participation in this exhibition. We look forward to continuing this partnership and seeing more fruitful collaborations in the future," said Ambassador Francis.
Meanwhile, President Director of ISA Art and Design, Deborah Iskandar, expressed hope that more Indonesian artists will have the opportunity to exhibit their works in Ireland.
She emphasized that art plays a key role in cultural diplomacy and serves as a powerful medium for nations to introduce their identity to the global stage.

Deputy Minister Irene of Creative Economy was accompanied at the event by the Acting Director of Visual Arts and Performing Arts, Dr. Dadam Mahdar.
