“After Christmas, now we are approaching Chinese New Year and will continue to celebrate Ramadan in the same month. This year is a monumental moment, where we remain united to show the world that Indonesia is the most inclusive country. Moreover, the theme of Chinese New Year 2026 is Harmoni Imlek Nusantara,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar on Saturday (7/2).
She added that the spirit of togetherness will be reflected in the series of National Chinese New Year celebrations in Jakarta. Through this social service, she also hopes to strengthen unity and foster more acts of kindness within the community.
“Jakarta will have 93 lantern points that will be lit, culminating in the Chinese New Year event on 28 February 2026 at Lapangan Banteng. Let us illuminate the world together from now onward, because the world needs small lights like this social service that showcase the strength of Indonesia,” added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar.
