Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Commends USS Yard Sale for Creating Job Opportunities for the Youth

Jakarta, March 23, 2025 – The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, expressed her appreciation for the Urban Sneaker Society (USS) Yard Sale event, which contributes to the development of the local fashion ecosystem. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene also highlighted how the USS Yard Sale creates quality job opportunities for the younger generation.

"We highly appreciate the USS Yard Sale for its consistent support of SMEs and local brands since 2017," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during her visit to the USS Yard Sale at City Hall, Pondok Indah Mall (PIM) 3, Jakarta, on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

With over 50 SMEs and local brands involved, the majority of which are run by creative young people, the USS Yard Sale offers business owners the opportunity to promote their products and boost sales. The event also serves as a platform to prepare for a joyful and peaceful Ramadan, while paving the way for a brighter future.

"Through the USS Yard Sale, we hope to create more quality job opportunities for the younger generation, particularly in the fashion subsector," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

The USS Yard Sale, which took place from March 21 to March 23, 2025, attracted young people eager to explore contemporary lifestyles and youth culture. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene also hopes that the ecosystem for SMEs and local brands in Indonesia will become stronger and more sustainable.

"We hope that the USS Yard Sale can strengthen and sustain the ecosystem for SMEs and local brands in Indonesia, with a target of creating 27 million job opportunities in the next five years," added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene, who was accompanied by the Deputy for Cultural and Design Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy, Yuke Sri Rahayu.
