Jakarta, 2 April, 2026 – The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy received an audience with the Indonesian Herbal Medicine Entrepreneurs Association (GP Jamu), together with Acaraki and related industry players, at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience with the Indonesian Herbal Medicine Entrepreneurs Association (GP Jamu), along with Acaraki and creative industry players, at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta on Thursday (April 2, 2026).
The meeting discussed strengthening the organization of Festival Jamu Nusantara 2026 as a strategic platform to elevate jamu as a cultural heritage while also positioning it as a creative economy product that remains relevant to contemporary developments.
Festival Jamu Nusantara 2026 is designed as a national-scale event that integrates cultural heritage with various subsectors, ranging from culinary, arts, and fashion to interactive experiences and wellness. Unlike previous years, this year’s festival will be concentrated into a single two-day event to create a more measurable and impactful outcome.
The Deputy Minister welcomed the initiative and emphasized the importance of strengthening the narrative of jamu as part of a modern lifestyle.
“Festival Jamu Nusantara must be able to present an authentic experience that is also relevant to younger generations. We want jamu to be recognized not only as a tradition, but as a lifestyle that people can take pride in,” said the Deputy Minister on Thursday (April 2).
The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy also encouraged the festival to serve as an inclusive platform for collaboration among business actors, creators, and communities.

Chairman of GP Jamu, Jony Yuwono, stated that Festival Jamu Nusantara 2026 has the potential to become a sustainable national cultural movement. With government support, it is expected to open broader access for traditional culinary products such as jamu to innovate and reach wider markets.
“We aim to establish this festival as an annual national-scale celebration that elevates jamu to a higher level, both in terms of cultural significance and economic value. Collaboration with the government is key to expanding its impact,” said Jony.
The audience also highlighted the strengthening of intellectual property value through cultural digitalization initiatives, including the Alih Aksara Nusantara platform, a result of collaboration with Acaraki. This initiative opens new opportunities, particularly in the development of design, branding, and campaigns based on authentic local identity.
Client Solution Manager of PT ADX Asia, Bella Belinda, added that a creative approach is key to reaching a broader audience.
