Jakarta, 23 September 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, received an audience from Waroeng Imaji Foundation, which facilitates the development of talents of children living in public housing (rusun) through arts and performances. Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menerima audiensi dari Yayasan Waroeng Imaji, Jakarta, Selasa (23/09/2025).
Waroeng Imaji has consistently presented creative works that resonate with children and families in Indonesia. Since 2017, the foundation has launched the musical Aku Anak Rusun, involving children from public housing; produced the animated content Squad Midodo in collaboration with Binus University; created the Waroeng Imaji Podcast on Spotify; and partnered with Kompas TV for online operettas during the pandemic.
All programs stem from the mission to build children’s character while empowering rusun communities in Jakarta. During the audience, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized the importance of a sustainability strategy to ensure that local IP grows sustainably and remains memorable to the public.

“The key lies in media strategy and activation. How can Squad Midodo be recognized and remembered by children—through social media, YouTube content, and offline activities such as interactive storytelling in public spaces or shopping centers. With this foundation, next year’s operetta will be the pinnacle of audience development while establishing a sustainable business model,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar at the meeting held at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 23 September 2025.
At the same event, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design, Yuke Sri Rahayu, stated that the Ministry is ready to collaborate in promoting local IP created by Indonesian talents.
“We see great potential in works like Squad Midodo. The Ministry of Creative Economy will provide promotional support through various channels, including internal ministry media, partner networks, and collaborations within the city ecosystem, such as shopping centers in Jakarta. Our goal is for this local IP to reach more children and families across Indonesia,” said Yuke.

“We hope the Ministry of Creative Economy can assist in promoting Squad Midodo to the wider public, using this local IP as a medium to convey messages from the government that are relatable to children and families, and as a key partner in promoting the Squad Midodo and Bobo Operetta programs. With this support, we believe the works of Indonesian children can have a greater impact,” said Dovieke.
