Jakarta, 10 September 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar explored opportunities for collaboration with Foolball Board Game as part of efforts to support homegrown creative products and strengthen Indonesia’s national board game ecosystem. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene emphasized that strategic collaboration could expand market reach and foster a new generation of board game enthusiasts and creators in Indonesia.

“We are opening up opportunities for collaboration so that games like Foolball can grow further. With the right ecosystem support, board games can become a creative medium that connects more closely with Indonesian youth,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during an audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy office in Jakarta on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene further highlighted the importance of commercializing board games to attract a broader audience and contribute to driving the national economy, including through the use of engaging characters within the game.
“Board games are increasingly popular among the public, and fun, appealing characters can become a unique selling point to reach a wider market. For football enthusiasts, we can also organize leagues so that players can enjoy the thrill of football without needing to be on the field,” added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

Foolball Board Game is a tabletop game combining strategy, dexterity, and the excitement of football through board and card formats. Designed for all ages, the game is easy to learn while remaining challenging. Currently, Foolball has partnered with PSSI through PT. Garuda Sepakbola Indonesia and the Official Garuda Store, the official merchandise store of the Indonesian National Team.
Mistara Pandu, the creator of Foolball Board Game, expressed hope that the product would not only entertain but also collaborate with other relevant creative economy subsectors. He emphasized that Foolball could serve as a positive alternative activity to reduce excessive screen time among children and teenagers.
“We want Foolball to be a healthy, interactive, and enjoyable game. More than that, we hope it can be a positive choice for children to create and interact without being glued to screens all the time,” said Pandu.
During the session, Deputy Minister of Creative Econom Irene also participated in a gameplay simulation with Pandu, experiencing the competitive excitement of strategizing, defending against attacks, and scoring goals to win the match.
Through support for creative products like Foolball Board Game, the Ministry of Creative Economy remains committed to strengthening Indonesia’s national games subsector. The initiative aims to provide positive choices for young generations while driving the growth of the domestic board game industry.
The audience was attended by Luat S.P. Sihombing, Director of Games at the Ministry of Creative Economy. From Foolball Board Game, Moses Langgean Simbolon, Head of Business Development; Ragel Reakara, Head of Operations; and Fajar Setiawan, Head of Media Relations, were also present.
