Jakarta, 24 April, 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), Irene Umar, emphasized the strong export potential of the custom automotive industry. During the visit, she gathered insights from creative economy players in this subsector while also supporting promotional efforts led by content creators.
Deputy Minister Irene Umar conducted a visit and dialogue with creative automotive industry players at Motovillage, Jakarta, Friday (April 24, 2026).
“We are certainly learning about this emerging industry. For local, national, and export markets, we aim to create added value that strengthens export potential,” said the Deputy Minister during the visit and discussion.
Motovillage is known as a hub for two-wheeled vehicle and automotive communities, offering integrated facilities ranging from showrooms and workshops to creative spaces that support the industry ecosystem. During the dialogue, the Deputy Minister stressed the importance of understanding the needs of this growing industry, including export opportunities already achieved by local players in various countries.

She also highlighted the role of content creators in promoting the automotive industry. Global-scale automotive creators are seen as effective mediums to introduce Indonesia’s regional potential to international markets. Furthermore, the use of digital technology opens new opportunities for businesses—not only through physical products but also through the development of digital assets with economic value.
“Digital assets are not just for engagement; we expect them to be monetized. So, beyond creativity, they should also contribute to economic value, particularly in the digital space,” she added.
Welcoming the Deputy Minister, Umar Lubis, expressed enthusiasm over the government’s attention. He hopes this support will further expand the network of Indonesia’s creative automotive industry.

“We strongly hope that in the near future there will be concrete support for the creative automotive industry in Indonesia. We are ready to serve as a hub to help facilitate this,” he said.
Through this discussion, the Ministry of Creative Economy aims to strengthen synergy between the government and industry players, enabling the custom automotive subsector to grow as part of a globally competitive creative economy ecosystem.
