Jakarta, May 8, 2026 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar praised the use of technology in preserving culture while advancing the innovation of local visual artists on the global stage, as demonstrated by Jemana Murti Studio in Denpasar, Bali. The Deputy Minister emphasized that this kind of creative economy serves as a bridge between tradition and future technology.

“We are deeply impressed by how Jemana Murti Studio has successfully bridged the gap between Balinese local wisdom and futuristic technology. The Ministry is here to ensure that AI-generated and 3D printing-based artistic exploration is given the proper space to grow. This innovation represents a new face of the creative economy that dares to redefine tradition in the digital era,” said the Deputy Minister during her visit to Jemana Murti Studio in Bali, Friday (8/5).
The Deputy Minister also engaged directly with Jemana Murti’s artists to observe the creative process behind experimental sculptures and installations that respond to issues surrounding the regeneration of tradition. The visit also aimed to elevate Indonesia’s hidden gems onto the international stage so they can compete globally without losing their cultural identity.
“Through Jemana Murti’s works, we can see how 3D printing technology is capable of preserving the spirit of Balinese culture by harmoniously combining tradition and modernity. I hope all artists can collaborate and stand together as equals so that the strength of our culture can shine on the global stage without losing even the slightest part of its identity,” she stated.
Jemana Murti is a visual artist from Denpasar who explores the regeneration of Balinese traditions through contemporary mediums such as AI and 3D printing. Through an old meets new approach, he combines traditional aesthetics with futuristic technology to create experimental works focused on cultural preservation and the relationship between humans, rituals, and technology.

The visit also highlighted the importance of developing Bali’s creative ecosystem not only through the tourism sector, but also through the strength of original intellectual property (IP). The meeting discussed plans for collaboration to bring Jemana Murti’s installation works to the international stage, showcasing Indonesia’s excellence in combining traditional aesthetics with modern technology enriched by deep philosophical values.
Also accompanying the Deputy Minister during the visit were Special Staff to the Minister for Strengthening the Creative Economy Ecosystem and Data Jago Anggara, and Expert Staff for Regulation and Institutional Affairs Dahana Esa Putera.
