Yogyakarta, June 27, 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar stated that Kreatifafa’s content production shows that regional creative economy talents are capable of producing high-quality works. This was conveyed by the Deputy Minister during the inauguration of the new office of the publishing company, which focuses on producing educational and Islamic-themed children’s books, in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta, on Friday, June 27, 2025.

According to the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Kreatifafa, which integrates educational content and religious values into an interactive pop-up book, is an especially engaging initiative. The Deputy Minister also stated that this innovation reflects the great potential of creative economy talents in responding to the needs of children’s literacy.
“Kreatifafa is a real example of how regional creative economy talents can produce high-quality works, not only for the local market but also internationally. This is a tangible form of strengthening the creative economy ecosystem that directly contributes to economic growth and to building the character of the younger generation,” said the Deputy Minister.
Kreatifafa was established in 2020, producing Islamic-themed children’s books in a pop-up format that are not only entertaining but also educational. These books are available in Indonesian and English and are designed to align with the national education curriculum.
Since its first launch, Kreatifafa’s works have gained attention from international markets. The copyright for several titles has been acquired by countries such as Saudi Arabia and Germany, and the company is currently expanding into Malaysia.
Kreatifafa has also developed derivative products from its main characters, Krea and Fafa. Products such as dolls, keychains, tote bags, coasters, and educational teaching aids are part of their strategy to strengthen brand identity while opening up new economic opportunities. This approach aligns with the objectives of the Ministry of Creative Economy in creating a sustainable and competitive business ecosystem.

Kreatifafa Founder Achmad Faturrohman Rustandi expressed his gratitude for the Deputy Minister’s presence at the inauguration of their new office. He views this moment as a starting point for collaboration to make the creative economy a pillar of the national economy.
“I would like to express my gratitude for the presence of the Deputy Minister. With this new office, we are even more motivated to make the creative economy the pillar of Indonesia,” said the Deputy Minister during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Deputy Minister’s visit to Kreatifafa marks optimism for the future of Indonesia’s creative economy—that even through children’s books, great ideas can be born for the advancement of the nation.
This visit is part of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s concrete steps to strengthen the publishing sector as a new engine of national economic growth, starting from the regions.
Also present at the event was Founder and CEO Achmad Fatchul Hidayah. The Deputy Minister was accompanied by the Director for Craft of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Neli Yana.
