Jakarta, January 20, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, met with Deputy Minister of Cooperatives, Ferry Juliantono, to discuss collaboration between the two ministries. The main topic of discussion was the connection between creative economy players and cooperative MSMEs.
"This meeting focuses on collaboration between Cooperative MSMEs and other ministries with the Ministry of Creative Economy to build networks and enhance the capabilities of creative economy players in growing their businesses," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during the meeting at the Ministry of Cooperatives in Jakarta on Monday, January 20, 2025.
She further explained that the collaboration could involve the development of the creative industry, capacity building for creative economy players, and digital economy expansion. Cooperative associations could also be involved in its implementation.
"This collaboration could include inviting cooperative associations and exchanging databases between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Ministry of Cooperatives. This way, we can establish closer cooperation, facilitate partnerships, and help the public understand how to join cooperatives," Irene added.
On the other hand, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry welcomed the discussion positively. According to him, cooperatives could serve as an ideal legal entity and business management model for community-based creative economy players.
"We are pleased with this meeting as it strengthens inter-ministerial collaboration. Cooperatives can integrate into the creative economy, which is a great opportunity. The Ministry of Cooperatives is open to collaboration feel free to join our programs," said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Ferry.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene was accompanied by Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design at the Ministry of Creative Economy, while Deputy Minister Ferry hosted the discussion alongside his team.
