Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, reviewed the integrated creative ecosystem based on art, nature, technology, and culture at Nuanu Creative City in Tabanan, Bali, on Friday (8/5/2026).
“We see Nuanu Creative City not merely as a physical area, but as a tangible manifestation of the future of Indonesia’s creative economy. We are here to provide full support for the development of a space that is capable of combining immersive experiences with a commitment to sustainable living,” said the Deputy Minister in Bali on Friday (8/5).
During the visit, the Deputy Minister directly observed the integration of nature through the Earth Sentinels sculpture installation, AI-based multimedia at Aurora Media Park, as well as flora and fauna conservation efforts at Magic Garden. The visit also included interactions with artisans at Art Village, which serves as a center for traditional craft education for local communities.
“This area is clear proof that digital technology and environmental preservation can go hand in hand. I am proud to see the works of Indonesian talents that are able to compete at the global level without leaving behind local identity. From multimedia innovations to conservation efforts at Magic Garden, everything here is designed to improve community welfare while protecting the planet,” said the Deputy Minister.
Nuanu is a 44-hectare creative economy area in Bali developed based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana, which emphasizes harmony between humanity, God, and nature. The area prioritizes sustainability by developing only 30 percent of the land while preserving the remaining 70 percent as green zones, as well as implementing zero-emission principles through the use of electric vehicles.

Facilities such as Nuanu Kids Academy, which provides free art education for children in surrounding communities, further reinforce Nuanu’s role in strengthening cultural identity while enhancing the competitiveness of the international creative industry.
The Ministry of Creative Economy reaffirmed its commitment to continuously support the development of innovative creative zones based on environmental preservation across various regions in Indonesia. This initiative is expected to become a catalyst for more inclusive growth within creative economy subsectors while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a leading player in the sustainable global creative industry.
