Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Ready to Support EcoTouch’s Potential in Producing Environmentally Friendly Recycled Products

Jakarta, 5 November 2025 — The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency is committed to advancing green building products made from recycled textile waste in response to growing demand for sustainable materials. The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy highlighted EcoTouch’s fashion, acoustic, and insulation products as innovative solutions ready to compete in the market.

“The development and processing of textile waste by EcoTouch have successfully produced innovative fashion, interior, and architectural materials that hold strong potential within the circular economy,” said the Deputy Minister during a meeting with EcoTouch at the Ministry’s office in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/11).

The Deputy Minister also discussed the potential expansion of EcoTouch’s product lines, which primarily target business-to-business (B2B) markets and support a lifestyle aligned with building a healthier planet for future generations. However, several challenges remain, including market penetration, competition, and consumer education on the value of recycled materials.

“EcoTouch’s products already hold strong economic value. What we need now is the courage to support them and ensure proper education on the benefits of sustainable innovations. We will also work on opening access to new networks so that collaboration can continue to grow,” the Deputy Minister added.

Christina Harjanto, Co-founder of EcoTouch, explained that the company has been developing acoustic panels made from textile waste under PT Superbtex since its establishment in early 2021. EcoTouch has since expanded into waste management and the development of various recycled products, including insulation materials and fabrics. The company utilizes advanced technology to reduce heat and absorb sound.

“Our main product is building-grade acoustic panels, along with derivative products such as recycled bags and merchandise. All these categories are growing, especially green building materials, which are experiencing extremely high demand. We are also seeing increasing public awareness in choosing products that are environmentally friendly and health-conscious,” said Christina.

She also highlighted EcoTouch’s collaboration efforts that support the company’s commitment to meaningful environmental regeneration. These include the creation of a Honai house installation from Papua for the Indonesia Meubel & Design Expo (IFFINA) 2024, the “Stack” installation at Kids Biennale 2025, and a product showcase representing Indonesia at the World Osaka Expo 2025.

“We want to further introduce green building materials that are entirely produced in Indonesia. We hope more architects will explore and provide broader input to help expand collaboration opportunities. We thank the Deputy Minister for the attention and guidance given today,” Christina added.

The meeting was also attended by Yuke Sri Rahayu, Deputy for Cultural Creativity and Design, along with EcoTouch’s other co-founder, Heidi Loe.
