Jakarta, 3 October 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar welcomed the collaboration between Indonesia Comic Con and Indonesia Anime Con, which is scheduled to take place in Jakarta at the end of October 2025. This combined event, blending Western and Eastern pop culture, will feature exclusive local Intellectual Property (IP) launches and an extensive board game area, aiming to invigorate Indonesia’s creative economy.
Wakil Menteri Ekonomi Kreatif, Irene Umar, menerima audiensi dari Indonesia Comic Con dan Indonesia Anime Con, Jakarta, Jumat (03/10/2025).
“One day before the event, on 24 October, we will celebrate National Creative Economy Day. We hope this event can enliven the #OktoBerkreasi activities as a flexible market exhibition, aligning with the National Creative Economy Day series to support promotion,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during a meeting at Autograph Tower, Thamrin Nine, Jakarta, on Friday, 3 October 2025.
According to her, Indonesia Comic Con X Indonesia Anime Con not only has a loyal creative ecosystem and fanbase, but also offers opportunities to engage communities across various IPs, comics, and films, potentially fostering sustainable collaborations.
“This event can also invite board game associations and communities to showcase their work, so each visitor experiences something unique each year. The activities can provide a positive social impact for creative economy practitioners, encouraging further collaborative creations,” added the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.

Event organizers explained that the purpose of the event is to express a passion for pop culture through unique, memorable experiences, bringing together fans of comics, toys, films, music, games, and cosplay. The event is scheduled for 25–26 October 2025 at the Jakarta International Convention Center, targeting 30,000–35,000 visitors.
“This year’s concept is slightly different. Normally, there are two events annually, mid-year and year-end. This time, we combined them into a single event featuring Western and Eastern pop culture. We will also launch special local IPs exclusively for this event, along with a gaming zone in collaboration with board game enthusiasts,” said Project Manager Lulu Anwar.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene was accompanied by Director of Games Luat S.P. Sihombing, while representatives from Indonesia Comic Con X Indonesia Anime Con included Senior VP UniPin Debora Imanuella and Account Executive Event ICC Ridwan Zulkarnaen.
