In her remarks, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene highlighted the importance of such events in shaping the character and professionalism of the younger creative generation.
“First, this is an opportunity for students to showcase their best abilities. Second, with limited presentation time, they learn to be disciplined and concise in delivering their ideas. Third, this event connects them with practitioners and senior figures in the industry, who may be difficult to meet outside of such occasions. In addition, they can also update their technological insights by directly engaging with various new materials,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.
The Y.iD Award 2025 is an annual competition among interior design students aimed at encouraging innovation and creativity in the field of interior design, particularly in the application of sustainable multisensory concepts. Organized by the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers (HDII), this year’s event carries the theme “Interior Multisensory Experience for Sustainability”, with a mission to nurture young designers’ potential, strengthen the reputation of Indonesian designers at the national and international levels, and bring local interior design trends into modern and contemporary works.
The competition features two award categories:
Best Design: Presented to the project with the highest score based on originality, application of interior design principles, relevance to the theme, trend alignment, and systematic project presentation.
Inspiring Design: Presented to the project with the second-highest score, evaluated for originality, thematic relevance, out-of-the-box concepts, and strong contemporary visual appeal.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene also encouraged participants to continuously sharpen their skills and foster cross-generational collaboration.
“Remember, stay humble, keep learning, and always collaborate. Never choose to only work with your own generation. We must bridge the generational gap so Indonesia can move forward. I hope you all become the driving force of the creative economy, realizing Indonesia Emas, and making the creative economy ‘The New Engine of Growth,’” emphasized Irene.

This serves as a concrete step in expanding employment opportunities for the younger generation.
The strengthening of the Hexalix ecosystem through this initiative is expected to contribute to achieving the targets outlined in Presidential Regulation No. 12 of 2025 on the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), namely:
Creative Economy GDP ratio of 8.0–8.4%,
6% growth in creative economy exports,
27.66 million creative economy workers,
7.0–8.0% growth in creative economy investment.
