“We are here as a form of government support. This proves how strong the solidarity among gamers is and how positive the impact can be,” said Deputy Minister Irene, who attended the event as the keynote speaker held at Point Arena, Jakarta, on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
This event marked W3GG’s inaugural initiative as part of the Indonesia Game Week series, serving also as the official exclusive partner in the blockchain gaming sector. W3GG GAM3 ARENA adopted a hybrid concept that combines immersive offline engagement with interactive digital experiences. This format enables gamers from across Indonesia and around the world to connect, play, and grow together beyond geographical boundaries.
Deputy Minister Irene also encouraged competition participants to stay motivated without making the final results their sole measure of success. One of the event’s highlights was the Indie Game Pitch Battle, featuring eight local game studios. The grand prize winner received USD 5,000, while the community choice award offered USD 1,000.

“Give your best, and don’t let today’s results affect your next steps. This event serves as an important platform for independent game developers to showcase their creative potential on both national and international stages,” said Deputy Minister Irene.
Deputy Minister Irene also described several concrete government initiatives to support the local gaming industry. One such initiative is the establishment of Game Corners at airports, featuring Indonesian-made games curated by the Indonesian Game Association (AGI). This effort aims to expand the exposure of local games to the public and travelers. Besides that, the government is collaborating with several hotels, including Artotel and Ashley Hotel, to provide in-room gaming services.
