Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Visits Persib Store: A Creative Economy Space with Impact

Bandung, 30 September 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, praised Persib Store as a business entity that has successfully collaborated with various brands, created a strong commercial ecosystem, and leveraged the large fanbase of Persib Bandung, known as Bobotoh. Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene highlighted Persib Store’s role as a sustainable space for collaboration across sports, lifestyle, and the creative industry.

“Ideally, Persib Store plays a role in providing space for the creative economy to grow and create impact. This shows that sports like football have the power to unite culture, community, and the creative industry,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene during her visit to Persib Official Store in Tamansari, Bandung on Sunday, 28 September 2025.

Persib Bandung has become one of the Indonesian football clubs with significant alternative revenue streams through Persib Store, managed and commercialized strategically. Beyond selling official merchandise, Persib Store builds stories, identity, and pride that resonate with Bobotoh and the people of West Java.

“Every city should have its distinctive character, and so should brand development like Persib Store. It is time for retail development to collaborate with local IPs to drive national creative industry growth and collectively reach global markets,” added Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene.

At the same venue, Head of Commercial Retail and Merchandising of Persib Store, Fadma Wijayati, said that the store’s business potential goes beyond selling official merchandise. She mentioned collaborations with MSMEs to increase the competitiveness of local products, such as the KolaboraSIB program in partnership with Cosmic and Hammerstouth to foster the growing creative industry.

“The new spirit of Persib Store is to continuously evolve, not just as an offline merchandise retail. Other initiatives include online sales. We are optimistic that Persib Store can showcase Bandung’s creative products proudly as part of Indonesia’s creative economy ecosystem,” added Fadma.

With a fanbase of 25 million people, Persib has become a pioneer and an exemplary model in positioning a football club as a local brand and a high-value creative industry investment. Beyond ticket revenue, Persib leverages merchandise stores, digital content, membership platforms, and community campaigns to generate impact on the national economy.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene was accompanied by Sub-Director of Fashion Marketing and Commercialization, Dessy Widowati during her visit to Persib Official Store. Representatives of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat (PBB) who welcomed her visit included Reza, Offline Manager.
