Jakarta, 6 November 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy and Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Irene Umar, made a special appearance on the runway of Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2026. Her participation in the fashion parade served as a symbolic and concrete gesture of the Ministry’s commitment to empowering Indonesia’s local Muslim fashion brands and elevating them to global prominence.

“I am delighted to be at JMFW and to take part in the runway alongside fellow deputy ministers. This event is more than a fashion show—it is a strategic step to strengthen the competitiveness of Indonesian creative products in the international market,” said the Deputy Minister during JMFW 2026, held on 6–9 November at Balai Kartini, Jakarta.
The Ministry of Creative Economy featured a dedicated booth showcasing leading local brands, including Bigboylooksgood, Djadi Batik, Dara Baro, KamaKu, Manika Jewellery, and Rappo.ld. The booth served as a platform for promoting local creative works, encouraging design innovation, and opening access to new market opportunities for Indonesian fashion entrepreneurs.

“Our local brands must become champions in their home country while gaining recognition on the global stage. The Ministry continuously supports creative industry players through capacity-building programs and international promotional initiatives, positioning the fashion subsector as the new engine of growth for Indonesia’s creative economy,” said the Deputy Minister.
Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri also expressed strong support for local brands.
“The presence of Indonesian brands at JMFW 2026 reflects the tremendous potential of our creative industry. The government will continue to facilitate broader national and international market access so that local brands can become increasingly competitive and ready to thrive globally,” she stated.

The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy walked the runway alongside several other deputy ministers, including Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri (Deputy Minister of Trade), Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka (Deputy Minister of Population and Family Development), Veronica Tan (Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection), Ni Luh Puspa (Deputy Minister of Tourism), and Stella Christie (Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology).
The moment served as an opportunity to spotlight Indonesia’s leading Muslim fashion collections while reinforcing the Ministry’s role in strengthening local brands, expanding regional market access, fostering international collaboration, and creating cross-border business opportunities.

JMFW 2026 showcased a wide range of innovative Muslim fashion brands from across Indonesia. The presence of the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy and fellow deputy ministers underscores the government’s commitment to advancing the national creative industry through cross-ministerial collaboration, talent development, international promotion, and the creation of new market pathways.
