Deputy Minister of Creative Economy: ‘Woman in Kebaya’ Fashion Show Strengthens Kartini’s Spirit

Jakarta, April 25, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar attended the fashion show themed “Woman in Kebaya” to commemorate Kartini Day, organized by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM.

Wamenekraf Irene Umar hadiri Woman in Kebaya tekankan peran perempuan dorong ekonomi kreatif, Gedung Suhartoyo, Kementerian Investasi dan Hilirisasi/BKPM, Jumat (25/04/2025).

“We are delighted to be part of the Kartini Day celebration, which is very meaningful for Indonesian women, and truly enjoyed the fashion show that highlighted the beauty and strength of inspiring women from government and related stakeholders,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene at the event held at Suhartoyo Building, Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, on Friday, April 25, 2025.

Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized that the creative economy speaks about imperfection turning into perfection. This spirit was reflected in the “Woman in Kebaya” fashion show, where unity and joy were displayed throughout the performance. With this spirit, the nation can continue to advance toward Indonesia Emas 2045 by optimizing the potential of the creative economy.

“With Kartini’s spirit, we can transform limitations into opportunities and achieve success by maximizing our creative economy potential,” she stated.

She also stressed that Kartini Day is a significant moment to remember the struggles of women in the past who had no access to education or opportunities for growth. With today’s advances in digital technology and globalization, women now have broader access and pathways to progress.

“In Kartini’s spirit, we must continue to innovate and harness technology to achieve our aspirations and build a better Indonesia through a sustainable and inclusive creative economy,” Irene added.
