Jakarta, 16 December 2025 — In an effort to position the creative economy sector as a new engine of growth, Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 brings together all stakeholders to foster smart mobility innovation that creates smart, inclusive, and sustainable cities. This initiative was reflected in the first panel, which showcased best practices from regional and central governments as well as strategies and innovations that can be adopted by other cities across Indonesia to enhance the quality of transportation and public mobility.

The Minister of Creative Economy / Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized that smart mobility innovation is not merely about transportation, but also represents an opportunity for the digital creative industry to grow. “Collaboration between the central government, regional governments, industry, and local creators will deliver innovative transportation solutions while encouraging creative subsectors to become the new engine of growth. Smart mobility is also a crucial part of Indonesia’s long-term vision of Golden Indonesia 2045, to build cities that are efficient, inclusive, and sustainable,” said the Minister of Creative Economy at the Pullman Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Informatics Application Division of the Communication and Informatics Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sayuri Egaravanda, highlighted the implementation of smart mobility in Yogyakarta in line with public expectations. “We focus on public transportation that is safe, comfortable, and low-emission, while also ensuring accessibility for the elderly, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable groups. These efforts also support creative economy activities, culture, and local innovation, including the tourism sector as a space for creators to grow,” said Sayuri.
At the same venue, the Regional Secretary of Sumedang Regency, Tuti Ruswati, underscored the integration of transportation systems in her region. “In Sumedang, we are developing efficient public transportation through inter-campus integration, digitalized payment systems, and smart governance policies. This approach supports a more coordinated mobility ecosystem while also improving access to creative economy areas, MSMEs, and local innovation activities, making it a model that can be adopted by other cities,” explained Tuti.

From a national technical and regulatory perspective, the Head of the Center for Transportation Safety and Security Policy at the Ministry of Transportation, Bernadette Endah Sekar, added, “Safety, efficiency, and sustainability are top priorities. The use of technologies such as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), data integration, and smart solutions enables safer and more comfortable mobility. We also emphasize the use of renewable energy and the strengthening of cybersecurity, so that the entire transportation ecosystem can operate in an integrated and reliable manner,” said Bernadette.
The First Panel Discussion reaffirmed the role of Ekraf Tech Summit 2025 in advancing smart and sustainable mobility, while strengthening cross-sector collaboration among regional governments, ministries, start-ups, and investors. The outcomes of the discussion are expected to serve as a reference for other cities in adopting smart mobility innovations, while also opening opportunities for creative economy subsectors to contribute to the transformation of national mobility.
Subsequent panels will highlight the strengthening of the start-up ecosystem, regulatory frameworks, and industry collaboration strategies as concrete steps to accelerate the implementation of smart mobility across Indonesia.
