Jakarta, July 14, 2025 – The Ministry of Creative Economy is exploring a strategic collaboration with the Indonesia Marketing Festival (IMF) 2025 to strengthen the commercialization of local creative products. During a meeting with IMF organizers at Autograph Tower, Jakarta, on Monday, July 14, 2025, Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, emphasized the importance of technology-based and sustainable marketing innovations to help creative entrepreneurs expand into wider markets.

“What local businesses need today is not merely commercialization, but extraordinary commercialization, innovative and relevant to the times. That is where the Ministry of Creative Economy comes in, connecting industries with curated local IPs, so that creative potential from across regions can achieve high competitiveness,” said the Deputy Minister.
The Indonesia Marketing Festival (IMF) is an annual marketing festival initiated by Markplus.Inc, now in its 13th edition. With the theme “Indonesia for Impact – Sustainable Marketing in the AI Era,” the festival presents seminars, training programs, and networking opportunities for businesses, industries, and government. This event is organized as a format of a running roadshow in seven major cities, including Semarang, Palembang, Bandung, and Surabaya. The event will take place from August to October 2025.
During the meeting, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Creative Economy’s main focus is to help market products that are ready for commercialization. According to her, the AI-based marketing training featured in IMF 2025 can reinforce this effort by accelerating the capacity of creative talents to market their products more effectively, particularly in the digital era.

“Our focus is not only to encourage the emergence of more creative products but also to upscale brands that are mature and hold strong potential to break into wider markets. We support IMF because its training series fosters innovation among creative economy talents in promoting their products,” said the Deputy Minister.
To support broader outreach of this initiative, the Deputy Minister also mentioned that the Ministry of Creative Economy would optimize its local creative community networks in various regions, ensuring the IMF’s impact reaches more creative economy talents across Indonesia.

The Deputy Minister also took Agustinus on a tour of the Ministry of Creative Economy office to introduce curated local IPs ready to collaborate with national brands and industries.
Meanwhile, the Associate Vice President of Product Commercialization at Markplus.Inc, Agustinus Kusumarianto, highlighted the importance of sustainable marketing approaches and the readiness of creative economy talents to face challenges in the digital era.
“At this event, we are discussing sustainability marketing, which is highly relevant to building a sustainable creative economy. We don’t want the creative economy to be just a temporary trend. Today, sustainability has become a selling point, not only in Indonesia but also in the global market. With rapid advancements in technology and AI, creative economy talents must also stay aware, including on copyright issues and their implications in the digital age,” Agustinus explained.

Furthermore, Agustinus stated that this event aims to inspire creative economy talents across regions, stressing that contributions to the national economy also come from outside Jakarta. This aligns with the Ministry of Creative Economy’s vision of positioning the creative economy as the new engine of growth starting from the regions.
