“The film Pelangi di Mars is not only an achievement for Indonesian cinema, but also a testament to technological advancement through which the world can witness the masterpiece created by the nation’s creative talents. We are proud to support Pelangi di Mars as one of Indonesia’s films that demonstrates significant achievement in terms of production scale and visual quality,” said Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar during the inauguration of the giant Pelangi and Robot Batik balloons at the SCBD Tunnel BEJ, Jakarta, on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

Deputy Minister Irene also expressed appreciation for the film Pelangi di Mars, which carries an adventure and science fiction theme and is supported by Extended Reality (XR) technology to enhance the depth of storytelling within the sci-fi genre. The hexahelix collaboration model was also highlighted as a key driver for the advancement of the creative industry, including support from Artha Graha Peduli together with SCBD, SCBD Park, and Creative Event Entertainment (CEE).

“Moreover, I have previously visited DossGuavaXR Studio, which is one of the hidden gems behind the scenes of this film. My appreciation goes to Artha Graha Peduli for believing in Indonesian IP through the film subsector and for continuously supporting the creative economy, including MSMEs. Without support and collaboration from various stakeholders through a hexahelix approach, it would be very difficult for Indonesia to move forward. Pelangi di Mars reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation and the strength of Indonesian IP as a family-friendly work that remains relevant,” added Deputy Minister Irene.

The film Pelangi di Mars is produced by Dendi Reynando and directed by Upie Guava, with a production period of nearly five years. Several actors and actresses will appear in live-action scenes, including Messi Gusti (Pelangi), Lutesha (Pratiwi), and Rio Dewanto (Banyu). Meanwhile, five iconic robots will be voiced by Indonesia’s creative voice actors, including Bimoky (Robot Batik), Kristo Immanuel (Yoman), Gilang Dirga (Petya), Vanya Rivani (Kimchi), and Dimitri Arditya (Sulil).

“Pelangi di Mars originated from a personal concern that children’s and family films remain very limited (under-supplied) in Indonesian cinema. This giant balloon is presented as a symbol that Pelangi di Mars is a story for everyone. Our hope is that Pelangi di Mars can become an original Indonesian IP that continues to be a source of pride for families,” said Dendi Reynando.

The launch of the giant balloon Pelangi di Mars also marked the introduction of an Intellectual Property (IP) or film universe created by the nation’s talents, presenting a blend of live action and animation. The film’s director further highlighted the emotional dimension of the project, which involved approximately 300 creative talents across Indonesia.

“This film feels like a work painted together. The powerful spirit of collaboration makes Pelangi di Mars not merely a film, but a movement to bring fairy tales and imagination to children throughout Indonesia,” said Upie Guava.
