Tangerang, 15 August 2025 – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, attended Garuda Indonesia’s launch of a special 80th Independence Day (HUT RI) aircraft livery at Hangar 2 GMF AeroAsia in Tangerang on Friday, 15 August 2025. The design was created in collaboration with local brand Cap Bali and young illustrators, as part of ongoing support for Indonesia’s creative economy.

“This is extraordinary. Seeing the work of Erika Richardo and Rakajana displayed on this aircraft is very moving. This also opens opportunities for more young creators to express themselves. The meaningful design demonstrates cross-sector collaboration and creativity capable of inspiring the younger generation,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Ekraf emphasized that the collaboration is a concrete example of supporting Indonesian creative talent while also promoting national intellectual property.

Following the success of the “Ayo Naik Garuda” livery collaboration with Tahilalats in early 2025, the Ministry of Creative Economy and Garuda Indonesia continue to strengthen support for the creative industry. The 80th Anniversary “Cap Bali” design highlights traditional Nusantara motifs while empowering young creative talents. This initiative aligns with the Ministry’s strategy of positioning the creative economy as the new engine of growth for Indonesia.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, stated that since its establishment, Garuda has been committed to driving innovation while upholding national identity.
“This special 80th Independence Day livery combines cultural heritage motifs with the creativity of young Indonesians, serving as tangible proof of Garuda’s support for the national creative industry,” said Wamildan.

Putu Fitri Ertaningsih, Director and Founder of Cap Bali, added: “The Garuda x Cap Bali collaboration shows that Indonesian brands can collaborate with national companies while supporting young talent to perform on a larger stage.”
Illustrator Erika Richardo also shared: “This collaboration presents 16 ethnic groups in Indonesia, representing the archipelago and super-priority tourism destinations. We hope this design fosters unity and national pride while inspiring young creators to continue innovating and preserving culture.”
Through such cross-sector collaborations, it is expected that more creative works by Indonesian talents will reach national and global platforms, increasing the visibility of Indonesia’s intellectual property worldwide.

Also present at the launch were Deputy Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, Deputy Minister for Population and Family Development Ratu Ayu Isyana Bagoes Oka, members of the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of Garuda Indonesia, and Ari Danangga, Owner of Cap Bali.
