Jakarta, 18 June 2026 – The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf) has once again organized its Generasi Melek Teknologi (Gen Matic) training program in collaboration with TikTok Shop by Tokopedia. This in-person digital literacy training was attended by 100 selected digital creators who successfully passed the application process, aiming to enhance their capabilities and professionalism in an increasingly competitive digital landscape.
The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency (Ekraf), in collaboration with TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, organized the Generasi Melek Teknologi (Gen Matic) training program as part of the WAKTUNYA STARt x GEN MATIC event in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Thursday (18 June 2026).
“The creative economy is one of Indonesia’s new engines of economic growth. Therefore, strengthening the capacity of creators is an important step in developing digital talents who are innovative, productive, and capable of competing at both the national and global levels,” said Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content at the Ministry of Creative Economy, during the WAKTUNYA STARt x GEN MATIC event held in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Thursday (18/6).
Gen Matic is a continuation of the Ministry’s strategic collaboration with TikTok Shop by Tokopedia, which began in 2025. The program, designed to accelerate digital transformation, has successfully reached more than 1,000 digital creators through training programs conducted in Jakarta, Bekasi, Tangerang, Yogyakarta, Makassar, Lhokseumawe, Padang, Jambi, and various other regions across Indonesia.
This collaborative initiative provides participants with training on content development strategies, digital platform optimization, personal branding enhancement, utilization of the latest features within the digital ecosystem, and opportunities to collaborate with creative industry players and strategic platform partners. Through Gen Matic, the Ministry of Creative Economy hopes to empower more Indonesian creators to leverage digital technology to produce high-quality content, expand business opportunities, and contribute to the growth of the national creative economy.
In 2026, the Gen Matic program adopts a more focused approach through creative economy subsector-based training. A total of 100 digital creators are participating in the program to strengthen their competencies, enhance their competitiveness, and gain access to new opportunities in support of the national creative economy ecosystem.

The Ministry of Creative Economy has also collaborated with the Ministry of Social Affairs to invite members of the public from Deciles 1–5 to participate in the training, enabling them to utilize digital platforms as a means of generating additional income and employment opportunities.
Meanwhile, TikTok Shop by Tokopedia continues to serve as a strategic partner in this collaborative initiative, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the development of Indonesia’s digital talent through educational programs, training opportunities, and creator empowerment initiatives. The collaboration between the government and digital platforms is viewed as a key strategy for strengthening the capabilities of digital creators while serving as an important investment in generating creativity-based economic value.
This initiative represents a tangible example of synergy between the government and the private sector in building a strong, inclusive, and competitive creative economy ecosystem, while supporting Indonesia’s vision of becoming a leading digital creative economy powerhouse in Southeast Asia. Through Gen Matic, creators are equipped with the digital knowledge and skills necessary to produce high-quality content, build strong personal brands, and maximize the use of digital platforms.
The Gen Matic program will also be implemented in other regions across Indonesia as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the national creative economy ecosystem through the development of creative human resources that are adaptive to technological advancements and digital transformation.
