Jakarta, 26 August 2025 — Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized that Indonesian diaspora and creative talent are strategic assets for the nation in winning global competition amid the rapid disruptions brought by AI and Web3 technologies. The statement was delivered during the talk show “Future-Ready Talent in the Age of Digital Disruption” at the Global Human Capital (GHC) Summit 2025 held at The Westin Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 August 2025.

“In an era of digital disruption driven by AI, blockchain, Web3, and global platforms, we should not view this as a threat. Instead, it is a tremendous opportunity. Creative economy talent is the key for Indonesia to remain competitive and even lead on the world stage,” said the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
The event was part of the Global Human Capital (GHC) Summit 2025, an international forum gathering leaders from government, industry, academia, and communities to discuss the future of human capital development.

The Deputy Minister of Creative Economy added that Indonesia’s greatest strength lies in its culture, creativity, and human talent, making the creative economy not only economically valuable but also a form of national soft power on the global stage.
She also highlighted the strategic role of Indonesian diaspora in expanding access to international markets, establishing global networks, and becoming mentors and collaborators for local talent.

Vice Chairperson of Commission VI of the House of Representatives, Rahayu Saraswati, who also spoke at the session, stressed the importance of building a supportive ecosystem that enables young Indonesian talent to develop and face the challenges of the digital era.
“Indonesia has an extraordinary demographic dividend. If our young generation is prepared well, they will not only be spectators but key players in global digital transformation and the creative economy,” said Rahayu Saraswati.

Through hexahelix collaboration involving government, industry, academia, communities, media, and diaspora, the Ministry of Creative Economy is committed to strengthening national talent capacity. With concrete efforts such as education, incubation, and enabling policies, the ministry is optimistic that Indonesia can turn digital disruption into opportunities for innovation, global competitiveness, and progress towards the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision.
