Bandung, 8 February 2026 — Deputy Minister for Creative Economy/Deputy Head of the Creative Economy Agency Irene Umar officially launched the Radio Ekraf 2026 program. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the role of radio as a platform for collaboration, expression, and the development of creative talent amid the dynamic landscape of the creative economy industry.
Deputy Minister for Creative Economy Irene Umar officially launched the Radio Ekraf 2026 program at Cihampelas Walk, Bandung, on Sunday (8/2/2026).
“Radio is no longer positioned merely as a broadcasting medium, but as a foundation of an ecosystem that supports the growth of creativity while strengthening networks among creative economy stakeholders,” said Deputy Minister for Creative Economy Irene Umar at Cihampelas Walk, Bandung, on Sunday, 8 February 2026.
The series of activities marking the launch of Radio Ekraf 2026 began with an Outside Broadcasting (OB) Van convoy involving participating radio stations, symbolizing the commencement of radio activation in public spaces across the City of Bandung. The Radio Ekraf program in Bandung will run for 30 days, from 8 February to 9 March 2026, daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. WIB, featuring an open studio located in the public area of Cihampelas Walk.
A total of 29 radio stations—comprising 28 private radio stations that are members of the Bandung City PC PRSSNI, along with RRI Bandung—will take turns conducting live broadcasts and various interactive activities with the public. Through a collaborative approach and convergence with digital platforms, Deputy Minister for Creative Economy Irene Umar emphasized that radio is expected to serve as a launchpad for creative talents while opening opportunities for the development of more sustainable business models.

In the context of strengthening the ecosystem at the regional level, Mayor of Bandung Muhammad Farhan stated that the implementation of Radio Ekraf is aligned with Bandung’s identity as a creative city with a strong radio ecosystem. He added that strengthening the radio ecosystem must be accompanied by the development of human resources, compliance with regulations, and sensitivity to social issues.
“Radio has long served as a space for expression for various communities and has played a role in shaping the dynamics of communication and creativity within the City of Bandung,” said Farhan.
